Our goal is to establish, maintain and conduct an organization of neutral and apolitical character by united women.
By providing a network that acts as the collective voice for ladies in the thoroughbred industry, it will encourage their involvement and inclusion in all organizations, committees, appointments and boards.
The Network will serve as a forum, discussion panel, bulletin board, opportunity pool and community center with access to women that can share and/or assist in a variety of beneficial ways.
Women of any age who become a member of the Thoroughbred Women’s Network can enroll in the TWN Mentorship Program. Whether you have ambitions of becoming a jockey and want to learn more about the trade, or are searching for advice as you dive into racehorse ownership for the first time, TWN can pair you with an experienced mentor to offer guidance and support on this step of your journey in the horse racing industry.
Mentees are asked to complete an application form and questionnaire regarding their goals and desired outcome for mentorship. TWN will review the application and pair you with an appropriate individual who already has experience in your area of interest.
To TWN, mentorship is a partnership and commitment that should be approached with the ultimate goal of improving our sport. It is our hope that both mentor and mentee will benefit from the relationship, and that the time and talents of both parties is respected and appreciated.
Your experiences are valuable. Share the opportunity with other women. Contribute to the grant.
The grant is built as an increasing fund that TWN will steadfastly steward through a rigorous process for necessary and eligible women that share a passion and a want to succeed, with a little boost from others that have shared their situation.
The fund will not be deemed a scholarship. Women are encouraged to apply while in any chapter of their life, age, status or chapter within their career.
The whole sums may not be awarded on a calendar date once a year or to a sole individual. Amount, number of recipients and date of gift will be determined by application, references and voted on by committee.
